The crackers have been pulled, the Christmas tree is sadly present-less and we’re starting to resemble giant Quality Streets, all of which can mean only one thing. New Years is nearly here!
Whether your New Years Eve is going to be flashy or trashy a cocktail can’t help but get you in the party mood! Here are the best recipes we could find for seeing in the New Year with style.
Happy New Year
An unimaginative name perhaps, but the Happy New Year cocktail certainly does what it says on the tin. A couple of these boozy bad boys and you’ll be feeling very happy indeed!
Serves 4
Ingredients
• 30 ml Brandy
• 80 ml Ruby Port
• 80 ml Orange Juice
• 450 ml Champagne
Method
Pour the orange juice, port and brandy into an ice filled cocktail shaker and shake well.
Divide equally between four champagne flutes.
Top up each flute with Champagne and serve!
Millennium Cocktail
If you want to party like its 1999 recreate this classic cocktail inspired by the Millennium and created by Dale Degroff – King Cocktail himself.
Serves 4
Ingredients
• 160 ml Cognac
• 160 ml Pineapple Juice
• 120 ml Triple Sec
• 4 Dashes Angustora Bitters
Method
Pour ingredients into a large, ice filled cocktail jug.
Stir thoroughly.
Strain into four chilled cocktail glasses and enjoy!
Midnight Martini
If you’ve been looking for the perfect tipple for the 12 o’clock countdown this could well be it. Midnight Martini is a simple cocktail but one which packs a real punch, and if you’re not normally a night owl the coffee liquor may stop you yawning through Auld Lang Syne!
Serves 4
Ingredients
• 400 ml Vodka (Can also use coffee flavoured vodka)
• 40 ml Coffee Liqueur
• Twist of Lemon Rind (to garnish)
Method
Pour 10 ml of coffee liqueur and 100 ml of vodka into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well before straining into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a twist of lemon rind.
Repeat until you have 4 kick-ass cocktails!
Bellini
This is one of the classic champagne cocktails and a wonderfully light, bubbly beverage. If this is the drink you want to begin the New Year holding follow the very simple recipe below.
Ingredients
• Peach Puree
• Champagne (Can also use Cava/Prosecco)
Method
Put 2 tsp of Peach puree in the bottom of a chilled champagne flute.
Top with champagne, drink and dance the night away!
Midori Melon Ball Drop
This shockingly green cocktail is fruity, refreshing and delicious. The perfect New Years drink, whether you’re watching the ball drop in Times Square or not!
Makes 4
Ingredients
• 230 ml Midori Melon Liqueur
• 120 ml Vodka
• 50 ml Elderflower Liqueur
• 50ml Fresh Lemon Juice
Method
Pour all the ingredients into an ice filled cocktail jug and stir thoroughly.
Strain into four chilled cocktail glasses and enjoy!
The Midnight Kiss
If you’ve got nobody to kiss at midnight this New Years Eve don’t worry, let this cocktail give you a big flavour smooch instead!

Ingredients
• 40 ml Vodka
• 60 ml Gin
• 60 ml Lemon Juice
• Champagne
Method
Pour the vodka, gin and lemon juice into an ice filled cocktail shaker.
Shake well.
Strain and divide equally between 4 chilled champagne flutes.
Top with champagne and let the good times roll!
