Because of the sheer size of the Russian Federation there are hugely varying climates across the sprawling country. In fact almost all of the climates experienced across the world can be found in Russia.
For example, in Siberia there is the famed icy arctic climate whilst the regions closest to the Black Sea enjoy a hot sub-tropical climate. In the Northern and Central regions summer is mainly sunny and dry – although summer rainfall and even thunderstorms are common. As is pretty much the case no matter where you are in the Russian Federation the winters can be very cold with extensive snowfall and frost.
